Abstract

An experimental study was made to evaluate the efficacy of Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as an anti-adhesive in prevention of intra-abdominal adhesions in dogs subjected to adhesions/formation by mechanical trauma. The investigation was conducted on 12 healthy dogs weighing 15–20 kg to study gross and histopathological changes in peritoneal adhesions, and to assess the effectiveness of 30% Polyvinylpyrrolidone solution in their prevention.
