Abstract

Ultrasonography is a noninvasive, sensitive and rapid imaging modality for evaluation of external ear canal in dogs. A 10 MHz linear array transducer with placement of probe on lateral aspect of ear canal was optimal to image the external ear canal in dogs. Ultrasonography of external ear canal in 32 dogs was successful in imaging the location of ear canal stenosis (14 dogs), polyp (1 dog) and mineralization (8 dogs). Ultrasonography facilitated evaluation of vertical and horizontal ear canal in normal and stenosed ears.
