The study was conducted to evaluate electromyography in sciatic nerve regeneration. Ten adult male cross bred dogs were equally divided into two groups. The right sciatic nerve was crushed in each dog under general anaesthesia. No treatment was given in one group of dogs, whereas animals of other group were subjected to trancutaneous electrical nerve stimulation for 10 min daily for 15 days with frequency of 100 Hz and 80 μs in intensity. Clinical signs were recorded for two months and EMG was recorded from semi-membranosus and semi-tendinosus extensor and flexor muscles up to 45 days. The results indicated that electromyography can be used to evaluate neural recovery induced by TENS.
