Abstract

Traumatic pericarditis was diagnosed using radiography and ultrasonography. Eight animals affected with serous form of pericarditis were subjected to ultrasound guided pericardiocentesis under local infiltration analgesia and pericardial lavage using temperate normal saline followed with infusion of metronidazole. Pericardial fluid became clear of exudation within 10 days in all the animals.
