Abstract

An electroretinography (ERG) is an objective electrodiagnostic method utilized to evaluate retinal function. In the present study, ERG was performed in 10 adult Spitz dogs to determine the normal range of ERG variables with special reference to standardize RETIport ERG system and to establish ERG system-specific limits of normality in order to obtain a correct diagnosis. Prior to ERG, all dogs were subjected to detailed ophthalmic examination. ERG findings including scotopic and photopic responses were recorded with LED-electrode under general anaesthesia following the protocols of ISCEV. The Mean±SE of b/a ratio for adult Spitz dogs at standard flash intensity (3.0 cd.s/m2) was 2.20±0.17.
