The present paper describes the surgical treatment of mandibular fractures by retrograde intramedullary pin fixation by intraoral approach in four dogs, aged 4–6 yr weighing from 15 to 30 kg. Under general anaesthesia K-wire of appropriate size (2–2.5 mm) was introduced into the cranial segment of the fractured mandible by direct piercing of the gingival mucous membrane in case of simple fracture, while into the bone in cases of compound fracture and pierced through the mandibular angle formed by body and the ramus of the mandible. The fractured mandible was properly aligned and the K-wire was then introduced into the rostral segment of the fractured mandible. This approach was found easy and fractures healed within 4–6 weeks without secondary complications.
