Abstract

The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of percutaneous minimally invasive pinhole in situ spermatic cord ligation using non-absorbable and absorbable suture materials. Twelve bucks were randomly divided into two groups and pinhole castration was performed. Pinhole castration by spermatic cord ligation using silk or Polyglactin 910 was accomplished, confirmed by atrophy of testes grossly and by testicular histopathology microscopically. Silk suture material for pinhole ligation of spermatic cord was found to be more effective and caused lesser inflammatory changes than Polyglactin 910.
