The study was conducted on 20 client owned dogs suffering from various grades of periodontal disease. Different management/treatment protocols were evaluated by clinical, haematological, biochemical, bacteriological and radiographic parameters. The study suggested that severity of the disease increased with the age of the dogs. The most effective treatment for the disease was a combination of professional dental cleaning along with suitable dental prophylaxis at an early stage.
