The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare zinc and silver fluorophosphate graft strips as osteoinducers for fracture management in dogs along with locking plate osteosynthesis. The study was conducted in 18 dogs with long bone fracture (femur, tibia and radius-ulna) divided into three equal groups. Group I was treated with LCP alone, which acted as control. Groups II and III were treated with LCP along with zinc and silver fluorophosphate graft strip, respectively. Evaluation was done based on clinical, haemato-biochemical and radiographic findings. Clinical (weight bearing) and radiographic (fracture healing) findings indicated early bone healing in groups treated with zinc and silver fluorophosphate grafts as compared to control group. Among the grafts used, zinc fluorophosphate was found superior with better weight bearing score and fewer complications related to fracture healing.
