Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate the comparative efficacy of green synthesized Cassine glauca silver nanoparticle ointment and povidone iodine ointment on wound healing in dogs. A total of 12 clinical cases of dogs were divided into two groups, A and B, comprising of six dogs in each group, irrespective of type of wound, age, sex, breed and body weight of animals. Histochemical study revealed that the collagen fiber arrangement and density were more prominent in group A as compared to group B. Hence, it was concluded that topical application of green synthesized Cassine glauca silver nanoparticle ointment was having better wound healing properties than povidone iodine ointment in canine.
