Abstract

A field study was conducted, during spring seasons 2020–21 at N.E. Borlaug, Crop Research Center, G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, on ratoon crop of sugarcane to identify the effective and economical weed management practices. Nine treatments were tested in randomized block design with three replications. The highest cane yield was obtained with pre-emergence application (PE) of atrazine 2 kg/ha followed by (fb) post-emergence application (PoE) of topramezone 25 g/ha, which was as effective as three hoeing at 30, 60 and 90 days after ratooning (DAR). However, the highest net return (Rs. 102700/ha) and benefit cost ratio (1.92) were recorded with atrazine 2 kg/ha PE fb topramezone 25 g/ha PoE.
