Abstract

User awareness simply means to educate the user. Readers are not aware with the library procedures systems and collection. The topic of present study is “Users Awareness about Information Resources in Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi” the main objective of the study is to find out the awareness and use of Information Resources among the users of sample of Jamia Millia Islamia University and also provide the basic information about information sources and resources and how to exploit such resources effectively and efficiently. The scope of the study is confined to the users of Jamia Millia Islamia University regarding the effective use of resources. The study is based on a survey method for which a structured questionnaire was designed and tested for the purpose of data collection. The questionnaire was distributed to 80 respondents selected for the study out of which 70 questionnaire were received back with the response rate of 64. The collected data thoroughly organized and tabulated by using simple statistical methods. The main finding of the study is that it was found that a large number of library users utilized the non-formal information sources available in the library
