This paper begins by elucidating the fundamental concepts of fragility analysis and its significance in evaluating dam safety. It explores the key components involved in conducting a fragility analysis, damage states, failure methods, structural modeling techniques, seismic analysis methods, and damage quantification criteria. The paper discusses the various approaches to developing fragility curves, representing the probabilistic relationship between seismic intensity and the likelihood of different damage states. It delineates the importance of accounting for uncertainties in input parameters and the incorporation of advanced probabilistic modeling techniques to enhance the accuracy of fragility assessments. This paper presents an overview of the seismic fragility analysis of concrete gravity dams. The procedure of the fragility analysis, failure modes, damage states, and inherent uncertainty present in a concrete gravity dam are elaborated in this paper.
