Abstract

A modified star-triangular fractal monopole antenna with semi-elliptical ground plane is given for wideband applications. By comparing with the previous defined fractal antenna, the proposed antenna dimension has compact size 20x20xlmm3. The proposed antenna operates over a wide frequency band between 3.5 GHz-35 GHz with a band notch from 6 GHz-8.2 GHz. The design method with improving of the impedance bandwidth and gain, VSWR, radiation patterns of the simulated antenna are presented.
