In this paper comparative study of printed dual-band fork-shaped monopole antenna for Bluetooth and Ultrawideband (UWB) applications is proposed using IE3D and CST. Dual-band operation covering 2.4–2.484 GHz (Bluetooth) and 3.1– 10 GHz (UWB) frequency bands are obtained by using a fork-shaped radiating patch and a rectangular partially ground plane. The proposed antenna is fed by a 50-Ω microstrip line and fabricated on a low-cost FR4 substrate having dimensions 42 (Lsub) × 24 (Wsub) × 1.6 (H) mm3. The antenna shows acceptable gain flatness with nearly omnidirectional radiation patternsover both Bluetooth and UWB bands. Measured S11 is ≤ -10 dB over 2.3–2.5 and 3.1–10 GHz.
