Abstract

The eutectic Sn-9wt%Zn solder alloy has been considered as one of the most attractive lead free solder because it has melting temperature very close to Sn-Pb eutectic solder alloy. However there are some drawbacks which need to be resolved. Therefore addition of certain alloying elements into the Sn-Zn solder enhances the properties as reported by many researchers. This study aims to investigate the effect of addition of alloying elements on various properties.
