In this paper a control system having an impedance source inverter is designed suitable for wind power conversion system but the main challenge in wind power system is to maintain a constant voltage at the output, though there is unpredictable in the variation of wind speed which is suitably taken care in steady state through buck-boost-capability of quasi z source inverter (QZSI). The shoot through state of the QZSI is able to control and boost the output voltage when the generation of wind voltage is not more enough to directly generate the desired output. Again, the non-shoot through state can control and will buck the output voltage when the generating wind voltage is more than desired. So, the quasi z source inverter replacing the conventional PWM inverter which provides the unique output voltage regulation featured by making an appropriate choice of boost factor. Thus, the closed loop controller will carefully monitor the generation of wind voltage and controls the shoot through and non-shoot through duty cycles automatically.
