This paper introduces how to improve the power quality of an unbalanced nonlinear load with the help of a power electronic system. An electronic converter (synchronous link converter) along with proportional-integral controller is suggested to make accurately stable system with reduced harmonics in order to concert with the power quality problems. A carrier-less hysteresis current controller is employed over the sensed and reference supply currents to inaugurate the gating pulses of the semiconductor devices (here IGBTs) used for synchronous link converter. The operation and control of the converter are described. The power system network is attempted to make free from harmonic pollution as the THD is reduced and the power quality is increased. The proposed scheme has been tested and validated using MATLAB/SIMULINK software. The simulation results are shown to validate the advantages of the proposed approach and strengthen the power quality of the system.
