Abstract

The microstrip patch is the most preferable antenna structure for low cost and compact design for wireless system and RF application. In this paper, we present design of a novel compact small size microstrip antenna suitable for L band applications. First, a rectangular patch is designed on FR4 substrate and obtained a good bandwidth of 750 MHz and 910 MHz. Loading properly arranged slots on a rectangular microstrip patch enhancement in bandwidth is achieved. The bandwidth of 2.94 GHz is obtained. The proposed antenna has also good return loss, VSWR (less than 2) and gain. HFSS 13.0 is used for simulation.
