This research paper contains how cybercrimes involving stealing of debit cards take place and how the victims can be aided from such happenings. It contains the process through which criminals make victims fall into the frauds and how the confidential data related to debit cards, sufficient enough to make transactions, are retrieved from victims. The next part in the paper contains a suggested method, involving the help of cyber police as well as some other sources, through which criminals can be possibly caught in such crimes. Plastic money (debit cards and credit cards) are widely used to facilitate cashless payments. With the increase in facilities, have come increased number of crimes, one of which involves stealing of confidential information, related to the plastic money such as card number, CVV number, expiry date, name of card holder. If any individual gains possession of these data, it is very easy to steal money from the bank A/c on which that card is issued. However, it has for some people become a source of income to steal money directly from victims'bank A/c. The process of stealing is very popular nowadays, which is described later in the paper, but very unpopular are the ways through which such criminals can be possibly caught. This paper further contains a suggestion or a method through which cyber police can possibly catch criminals, which may also involve some other sources which are included in the method. The paper also contains a real-life case of a victim whose money was stolen by stealing debit card information.
