A five year old female jersey crossbred cow of weighing 278kg was presented with the history of excessive salivation, dysphagia and reduced milk yield since one week. Physical examination of the oral cavity with glowed hand revealed a tightly encircled foreign body (jute rope) at the radix linguae region. Inflammation, ulceration and bleeding were noticed at the surrounding area. By gentle traction the foreign body was removed and the animal had an uneventful recovery. Foreign body in the mobile tongue is very rare with limited case reports.
