Abstract

A pilot study was conducted to assess the blood profile and serum enzymes alteration in 18 dogs suffering from various hepatic disorders (hepatitis, nodular hyperplasia and cirrhosis) and compared with normal haemato-biochemical values of healthy dogs. Anaemia and leukocytosis were recorded in all the groups of dogs suffering from hepatic disorders. In hepatitis significant increase was found in ALT, AST and ALP. In nodular hyperplasia there was significant increase in ALP. In cirrhosis the values of ALT, AST and ALP were not significantly altered.
