Ancylostomes are blood sucking parasites and cause severe anaemia and hypoproteinemia in dogs. A case of ancylostomosis associated ascites was diagnosed on the basis of associated clinical signs and laboratory findings. Treatment included anthelmentic, diuretics, H2 blockers, amino acid and protein supplementation, haematinics, liver tonics and fluid and electrolyte replenishment for several days. The successful management of the case with prompt therapeutic approach and good supportive care was recorded.
