Abstract

A 4 year old pony mare was presented with a left parotid (Stenson's) duct fistula over medioventral border of the mandibular horizontal ramus. Dry fodder feeding resulted in excessive flow of the saliva and confirmed the condition. Under diazepam-xylazine-ketamine combination anaesthesia, the duct was catheterized and 25ml of 10% formal-saline infused into the salivary gland. The treatment resulted in chemical involution of the parotid gland.
