Reproductive emergencies have economic significance and are encountered in cyclic, pregnant, postpartum females and also in breeding bulls. Abortions, dropsical conditions and accidental losses during pregnancy needs to be checked and prevented for smooth completion of term. Major emergency cases are reported during the stage of deliveries and every case of dystocia is emergency and critical, unless resolved. Post partum complications in all recently calved animals due to managemental negligence also constitutes major obstetrical emergencies under field conditions. Breeding males used indiscriminately for natural service or AI for semen collection necessitate occasional emergencies of particularly penile injuries.
