Total 12 animals including 10 cattle and 2 buffaloes suspected for intestinal obstruction were studied. The signs were acute colic, progressive weakness, reduced milk, partial or complete anorexia, dehydration and shrunken eyes. Per rectal examination showed scanty, black and mucous coated faeces in approximately 60% and empty rectum in 40% of animals. On ultrasonography, dilated intestinal loops by hypo echoic structure with increased diameter of intestinal loops were noticed. Out of 12 operative cases intussusceptum mass was noticed in 9 cases. Five cases were noticed with severe peritonitis and adhesions. Out of 12, 7 had survival and five died during or immediate postoperative period.
