Dystocia due to Maternal deformed pelvis in a Cattle and its management

Dystocia in cattle is common due to uterine and foetal origin and if corrective measures like foetal mutation and extraction has failed, caesarean operation is recommended. But dystocia due to maternal deformed pelvis is very rare and there is no other alternative except caesarean operation to save the life of dam as well as foetus. The paper deals with an successful emergency caesarean operation in field condition at night in a primipara cattle due to deformed maternal pelvis. The chances of success in such type of caesarean operation in field condition depends on proper counselling of owner, prompted decision and the surgical protocol followed.
