Abstract

Urolithiasis is a problem of bullocks which requires emergency treatment to relive the animal of colic pain and prevent urinary bladder rupture. A Novel technique for urinary bladder de-compensation and prevention of cystorhexis with the use of modified artificial gun and sheath is described in the report. Technique was tried in eight cases with success. The modified AI gun and sheath were inserted into the urinary bladder through stab incision from the ischeorectal fossa. The urine was drained completely. The sheath was kept in place to remove the urine formed. This prevented the urinary bladder rupture and relieved the animal of abdominal colic. With the use of this technique the urethrotomy and cystotomy operations could be postponed for 24–72 hrs. This procedure is simple, easy, quick to perform without much expertisation in rural areas in the hour of need.
