The study was conducted on efficiency of deworming in buffalo calves from ten adopted villages. The farmers were given door step demonstrations on adoption of deworming in comparison to their age old practice of drenching butter milk with salt to minimize worm load. Protective deworming with fenbendazole and praziquantel suspension/tablets and micronised albendazole at the age of 10–15 days, 40–45 days and 70–75 days post birth resulted in effective body weight gain and reduction in mortality rate in dewormed calves. Dissemination technology used in this study encouraged farmers to adopt deworming practice in buffalo calves as well as in milch animals.
