Abstract

Oral mineral supplementation @ 30g/heifer/day brought 56.66% anestrus heifers to heat within the treatment period of 60 days and also significantly increasing the levels of serum Cu, Mn and Zn. 46.66% of repeat breeding heifers conceived by treatment where serum levels of Cu, Mg and Zn and Mn were significantly increased. Mineral supplementation in both the regimes averted the increased Cd level in anestrus and repeat breeding heifers to facilitate absorption, assimilation and utilization of other minerals which in turn balanced the biochemicals, enzymes and maintains the homeostasis of reproductive hormones.
