Abstract

A jersey crossbred cow was presented with the history of reduced appetite, drooling of saliva, difficulty in prehension and mastication for past three months. Clinical examination of the mouth revealed a hard swelling of lower gum jaw in the rostral region with the incisors placed apart. Haemogram showed marginal leukocytosis and radiological examination of the lower jaw showed osteolytic changes. Surgical excision of the tumor was performed under sedation and local analgesia. Histomorphological features of the excised mass confirmed it as ameloblastoma. The animal had an uneventful recovery.
