The communication reports lamb and kid with failure of anal opening development, a congenital abnormality manifested as absence of faeces, dullness with abdominal distension, discomfort and straining at an attempt to defecate. The anus just below the normal tail was prepared as per surgical procedure. Animals recovery uneventfully.
