Abstract

Survey including 2028 bovines from university and private farms revealed that 4.29 percent of animals had Laminitis. Higher incidence of chronic form of disease was observed. Post parturient laminitis, animals in 3rd lactation, winter months and animals kept in brick floor had highest incidence but almost equal incidence was found in the fore and hind limbs. Different signs and symptoms observed differentiated the disease into acute, chronic and sub-clinical forms. Haematological and biochemical studies revealed significant difference between healthy and clinically affected animals. Affected animals were treated in two group. The non-steriodal anti-inflammatory treated group showed better results as compared to steriodal group.
