Abstract

An ewe was presented with inability to bear weight on its left hind leg since last two weeks. On clinical examination, the hock of left hind leg was found touching the ground (plantigrade) ruptured achilles tendon. Sugically the tendons ends were freshened and apposed by locking loop pattern. Full limb cast was done along with PVC splints anteriorly and posteriorly. After two months the cast was removed and animal recovered uneventfully. Complete weight bearing on the affected limb was observed after four months of surgery.
