A German Shepherd pup aged two months reported with prior history of tarsal fracture and immobilization for 45 days using ply board splints. The immobilization was malpositioned resulting in development of ankylosis of ankle joint and animal was limping with affected leg in hyperextension exhibiting painful ambulation. Radiography revealed abnormal callus in a phase of development and hence was operated. The articular surfaces of distal and proximal segments of joint was operated and the callus removed. After the closure of wound, the leg was held in flexion and plaster of paris was kept for six weeks. The animal was put to physiotherapy by applying Galvanic 20 stimulation for 12 minutes twice a week around the hock joint followed by massage with liniment ammonia. The responded well and returned to normal walking and running.
