The present study was conducted to evaluate the haemato-biochemical profile in dogs suffering from hind quarter weakness (HQW) and treated with conventional drug therapy (CDT, n=8) alone and in combination with therapeutic ultrasound (US, n=8) and shortwave diathermy (SWD, n=8). There was a significant increase in haemoglobin, glucose, potassium from 3rd day in all groups, whereas, monocytes and eosinophils did not exhibit any significant change. Total leucocyte count, neutrophils, lymphocytes and cortisol were significantly (P<0.05) lower from base value on day 7 in group III and from day 14 in groups I and II. Whereas, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), creatine kinase (CK) and sodium were significantly (P<0.05) decreased from day 3 in all groups. These biochemical changes returned to normal levels by 28th days in all the groups. The results showed that SWD along with CDT was more effective in bringing the animals back to normal physiological status followed by US along with CDT and CDT alone.
