A 11 months old male non-descript dog was presented with the history of progressive bending of both fore and hind legs and difficulty in walking for the past one month. Physical examination revealed bending of radius, angular tibia and pain on palpation of carpal and hock joints. Test for gait revealed posterior bending of fore legs, outward bending of hind legs and reluctant to move on the staircase. Serum bio-chemical examination revealed Calcium 6.9 mg/dl., Phosphorus 1.8 mg/dl. and Alkaline Phosphatase 420 u/L. Treatment regimen consisted of Inj.Calcium gluconate, Inj.Vitamin D3 and oral calcium, phosphorus and Vitamin D3 daily for 42 days. The dog showed remarkable recovery and was able to walk with normal gait after 6 weeks.
