175 goats with prominent signs of locomotor disturbances presented during the period of 25 months i.e May’ 2009 to May’ 2011, 24 kids (13.71%) were suffering from joint ill. The prevalence was more in female kids (62.5%) than male kids (37.3%). Higher prevalence was seen in 0–1 month kids and more during winter and pre-monsoon followed by monsoon climates. The condition was clinically characterized by hot painful swelling of the carpal joints, lameness, with high temperature. Cultural examination of the synovial fluid revealed Streptococcus sps and Staphylococcus spp. Treatment with Streptopenicillin along with symptomatic therapy was highly effective.
