Tick Paralysis in a Dog and its Therapeutic Management

Abstract

A two years old German shepherd dog with paralysis of hind limb due to parasitic infestation was presented. The diagnosis was confirmed by presence of ticks around the base of ears and near inguinal region and blood examination. The condition was corrected by manual removal, acaricidal dip and endectocide administration. Clinical improvement was seen after two weeks and animal recovered successfully.
