A primipara Holstein Friesian cow was reported to be sick and on lateral recumbency on tenth days post parturition. On the basis of history, symptoms and clinical findings, the cow was diagnosed to have toxic puerperal gangrenous metritis and was treated successfully with Ceftriaxone, Tazobactam and Metronidazole along with other supportive therapy. The cow stood up after 8 days of treatment and returned to normalcy gradually.
