Phorate poisoning was confirmed in six crossbred cows based on exposure to toxicant and symptoms of toxicity. Moderately affected two cows were treated with Atropine sulphate at dose rate of 0.3 mg/kg body weight along with electrolytes, Anti-histaminics and Vitamin B-complex for three consecutive days. Four severely affected cows were treated with Atropine sulphate at dose rate of 0.5 mg/kg body weight, along with electrolyte solution and 2-PAM at the dose rate of 30 mg/kg body weight intravenously as loading dose and 15 mg/kg intramuscularly as a maintenance dose after 6 hours and supportive treatment. All animals had an uneventful recovery.
