Abstract

A case of acute tropical theileriosis in a heifer was diagnosed based on clinical signs of high fever, anorexia, enlarged pre-scapular lymph nodes and extremely pale conjunctival mucous membranes and presence of Theileria annulata piroplasms in RBCs and large number of Koch‘s Blue Bodies (KBB) in lymphocytes in Giemsa stained blood smear. Animal was treated with buparvaquone, meloxicam and paracetamol, ringer's lactate, blood transfusion and phosphorous. The animal recovered completely after treatment.
