Abstract

A eighteen months old German Shepherd dog was examined with complaint of recurrent inappetence, weakness and vomiting. Hematology showed leucocytosis with neutrophilia. Increase of ALT, ALP and GGT supported diagnosis of hepatobiliary disease. Abdominal ultrasound evaluation showed diffuse hepatic tissue lesions associated with cholangitis. The dog responded to rehydration and anti-bacterials along with ursodeoxycholic acid and silymarin assisting speedy recovery.
