A three years old male dog with history of wounds and muscle stiffness was reported. Detailed clinical examination revealed weakness, lethargy, dullness, recumbancy, pyrexia dyspnoea, bradycardia, stiff gait, accentuated myotatic reflexes, protrusion of third eye lid, normal haemoglobin, leukocytosis, neutrophilia with shift to left. Based on history a tentative diagnosis of tetanus was arrived at. Treatment with fluid therapy, Vitamin B-complex, anti-tetanus gamma globulin, procaine penicillin, doxapram, chlorpromazine and diazepam was rewarding.
