There are complexities in diagnosis and treatment of canine dermatitis. Use of broad spectrum dermatological topical applications along with parenteral use of Streptopenicillin and Prednisolone is recommended. In rural India, one of the time tested topical application is use of compounded formulation of Sulfur sublimed, Boric powder, Camphor and Coconut oil, so as to make the semisolid ointment. In recent times equally effective is combined topical application of equally mixed preparations of Povidone Iodine and benzyl benzoate used extensively.
