Abstract

Nine dogs showing signs of demodicosis were diagnosed and treated. Physical and laboratory examinations of two cases confirmed generalized demodicosis, while it was confirmed as localized in other seven animals. All the cases were successfully managed by oral/parenteral administration of ivermectin weekly, amitraz rinses and bathing with benzyl peroxide shampoo, however in generalized cases of oral antibiotic was given additionally. Localized cases recovered within thirty days of treatment whereas generalized demodectic dogs recovered after sixty days.
