Six New Zealand white rabbits were presented with history of scratching, ear crusts and alopecia. Upon physical examination, crustaceous auricular lesions, erythematous and scaly pruritic skin lesions on nose, abdomen and extremities were detected. Microscopic examination of skin scrapings and crusts in ear revealed presence of Psoroptes cunuiculi and Sarcoptes scabiei. The infested rabbits were successfully treated with two doses of Ivermectin @400 μg/kg subcutaneously 14 days apart along with supportive therapy.
