A total of 47 feline patients were presented over a period of one year (Jan 2011 to Dec’ 2011) and enrolled in the study with clinical signs of pruritus, skin lesions. Out which 11 cats were infected with Otodectes sp., (23.40%). Aural examination showed thick brownish waxy material and live mites were noticed on both or either right or left medial aspect of the ear when examined microscopically. Waxy material was cleaned routinely with spirit soaked cotton and kittens were treated with fipronil spot-on and adult cat were treated with parenteral ivermectin @ 200ug/kg bwt subcutaneous weekly, for two weeks. It was concluded that the treatment of feline otodectosis by routine ear cleaning, parentral ivermectin or fipronil spot-on was found to be effective in the management.
