Abstract

A five year old female buffalo ws diagnosed and therapeutically managed for Ddermotophytosis. Animal had a history of mild pruritus along with presence of grayish white, crusty scab like circular lesions located mostly on back, flank, hind limbs and ventral abdominal area. The disease was diagnosed on basis of culturing hair samples on Sabauraud's dextrose agar and Dermatophyte test medium which revealed Trichophyton mentagrophyte. Treatment with topical broad spectrum fungicide once daily for 3 days over lesions followed by its weekly spray along with supportive drugs resulted in complete cure within one month.
