A four and half year old Labrador male dog was presented with skin ailment. Detailed clinical examination revealed anorectic, dull, unresponsive and having generalised skin infection with hair loss/alopecia. The biochemicals profile revealed decrease in T3 and T4 level. Based on history, clinical sign and biochemical profile, the case was diagnosis as hypothyroidism and treated with Thyroxine sodium orally 10mcg/kg body weight BID in divided doses along with fluid therapy, antibiotics and vitamins. The dog recovered completely wthin 3 months of treatment.
